Several of our Bricklayers' Local 1 Members competed in the SpecMix Regional Bricklayer 500 event held annually on September 28, 2017. Among those who competed, two of our members won top honors.

Brother Terry Daniel won First Place for the Region. Brother Daniel is a Journeyman Bricklayer working for Local 1 Signatory Contractor John Smith Masonry, with whom he also served his Apprenticeship. Brother Daniel will now advance to the 2018 SPEC MIX BRICKLAYER 500 World Championship on Wednesday, January 24, 2018.
Brother Bill Tackaberry not only won Third Place in the Region, but also received the Regional Craftsmanship Award. Brother Tackaberry is employed by Local 1 Signatory Contractor JDS Masonry.
