The 2023 Bricklayer500 Regional Competition was held at Midwest Brick & Block on Saturday, September 16.  As has been customary, every team competing was a Union Member employed by one of our Bricklayers Local 1 of Missouri Signatory Contractors.




We are excited to announce the First Place winning team *and* the Top Craftsman award at the 2023 Bricklayer500 Regional Contest are Local 1 MO Journeyman Bricklayer Rudy Menke, and his Mason Tender Steve Braswell, employed by Local 1 Signatory Contractor John Smith Masonry. They will be advancing on to the National Championships in Las Vegas in January 2024.

There were no Local 1 Service Awards for February 2018.


The Tri-County Labor Legislative Club is hosting its 4th Annual St. Patrick's Day Mouse Races on Friday, March 23, 2018 at the Local 2665 Fire Fighters Hall located at 117 McMenamy Road in St. Peters, Missouri 63376.

Doors will open at 6:00 p.m. and the races start at 7:00 p.m.

The cost is a $15.00 donation per person or $25.00 per couple. There will be music, beer, soda, coffee, hors d'oeuvres and cash bar.

in helping to support Labor-friendly candidates.

For the December 2017 Union Meeting and Member Christmas Party, the Officers raffled off a big screen, flat panel Samsung Smart TV.  The winners of the prizes are pictured below.

Bricklayers' Local 1 Members took job action against non-Signatory Contractor Carvalho Masonry, who was selected by General Contractor Pernikoff Construction, to work at a restoration job off Hampton Avenue. 

Walking picket for this job action is Ernar Hodzic, the brother of Tilesetters' Local 18 Member Senad Hodzic. 

Recently, the Officers and Members of Bricklayers' Local 1 took Job Action against a new Chick-Fil-A, being built on Hampton in South City by an out-of-state, non-Union Contractor from Arkansas.

As a result of this Job Action, Chick-Fil-A agreed to build future stores using Union Labor.
